What’s niggling you about your money, and who do you ask?
13 November 2024Attitudes and approaches to money are as varied as the people that own the funds. Some check and examine their financial planning on a regular basis, others less so. There might be events, such as birthdays, Christmas, or even a Budget (30 October 2024) that can focus the mind on money, along with many other economic factors that can raise questions as to what to do. It seems clear that taxes are going to rise in the future, so now might be a great time to take another look at your position.
So a question for you: When is the last time you asked a question about your money planning, and who did you go to?
Questions, especially financial questions, can often lead to answers…and then often more questions to reach an overview of a situation, and hopefully an agreed solution to move forward. As you might have experienced in other aspects of life, there may be more than one answer to a position that needs to be resolved.
Some financial questions can be very easy and quick to solve, based on an individual's situation, whereas others may need a deeper dive to look at other aspects of their overall financial planning before a recommendation, or recommendations, can be made. We often find that this is time well spent in achieving a full picture of an individual's circumstances, objectives and needs, and thereafter a suitable outcome.
And, as indicated above, this leads to another question as to who you ask, and can the response be trusted? Sure, you can use a search engine to 'google' a point you want cleared up. You might also ask a relative or friend if they know what to do, perhaps from their own experiences. They may not know and may refer on, and the team at Chapters Financial receives regular referrals from clients and contacts who bounce these questions on to us to help out. We are pleased to receive these enquiries. Indeed, we can often help, or as a minimum signpost on to where an advised answer can be sourced.
As we move into the autumn and the second half of this tax year, ask yourself about the last money question that you asked and perhaps what the next one will be.
Please don't be shy in asking us a question about your financial planning. We will aim to help and provide advice or guidance where appropriate. As we approach our 20th anniversary, we can usually provide some useful answers. We can also signpost to local accountants, solicitors and other professionals for additional advice in these areas, to help with good outcomes.
No individual advice is provided during the course of this blog.
